Özturk (Öztürkbay)
Production drums, Çiğli (Izmir), Turkey.
History
Salih Çetingöz made windmills in the 1930s, then in 1944 designed the first coffee grinder in Turkey: this is the date the company puts forward. Second generation with S. Zeki Öztürkbay from 1952 to 1979, third with Akşit Öztürkbay, who developed grinders, roasters and coffee equipment, fourth today with Alp and Yavuz. The oldest company in the Izmir basin.
The old domain, still cited by the Artisan directory, no longer responded on September 18, 2026; the live site is Öztürkbay's, where blocks of placeholder text remain in place of range descriptions.
What it makes
Double-wall drums, with digital control of flame height, drum speed and exhaust fan. Fuel and whether heating is direct or indirect not specified.
The models
- Shop OKS-500 GR: 500 g), OKS 1.5, 3, 5, 10, 15
- OKS industrial: 30, 60, 180
- ODC 10 and OD 10 grinders: silos, destoners, afterburners
What you gain
The double wall protects the bean from overheated sheet metal, and the digital flame control makes the heat input repeatable from one batch to the next.
What you lose
The inertia of the double wall slows corrections. A gap in the range between 60 and 180 kg forces an abrupt investment jump on a growing roastery. No trade press found.
