    History

The heaviest case in the Italian section. S.T.A. Impianti, in Crespellano in the Valsamoggia, made inverter-driven drums, the rotation speed changing at several stages of the cycle, with gas pressure and consumption displayed in real time; in June 2019 it launched the RBL 15, and in February 2020 it announced “green” machines without ceramic fiber, replaced by refractory steel, with 20 to 25% savings announced. Founded in 1988 according to Comunicaffè, in 1978 according to Daily Coffee News, which in 2019 spoke of a forty-one-year-old company.

Then the judicial liquidation, procedure 1/2023 of the Bologna court, and the company put up for auction on December 20, 2023, with a starting price of 1,670,000 euros for the complete lot. The outcome of the auction and the identity of any buyer are not verified; the website is reduced to a blank page.

    What it makes

Inverter-driven drums, from 500 g to 60 kg, without ceramic fiber since 2020.

    The models

    • Little Roasters: 500 g and 1 kg, gas
    • ReRoast: 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 kg
    • RBL 15: 2019

The industrial ranges can no longer be documented

    What you gain

Controlling drum speed by phases is a real profiling lever, rare at this price: the stirring changes the bean-wall contact time. Removing the ceramic fiber eliminates the residues it sheds.

    What you lose

The risk is no longer technical, it is industrial: parts, service and updates are not assured. That is the first thing to write.
