Santoker
Tabletop and countertop machines, Zhuzhou, China.
History
Three engineers, one from nuclear and two from aerospace, founded the company in summer 2012 in a technology park in Hunan; the Chinese name, 三豆客, translates roughly as “the three bean lovers.” The information comes from a distributor, not from the manufacturer, and should be read as such.
The technical choice is dominant hot air, about 60% on the R500, complemented by direct heating, with a recovery of flue gas heat announced as patented and an insulation called “labyrinth.” Control goes through an in-house controller and an app. In 2026, the RX300 receives an iF Design Award, an independent distinction. Distribution claimed from Beijing to Sydney.
What it makes
Predominantly convective roasters, gas or electric, from 100 g to 3.5 kg.
The models
- C10: sample, 100 g
- RX300: 100 to 300 g, six minutes announced
- R300
- R500: 100 to 700 g
- R1: 200 g to 1.2 kg
- R1.5: up to 2 kg
- R3: 0.5 to 3.5 kg
- R6
- Q5 and Q20 series
What you gain
Predominantly convective heating spreads the energy over the whole surface of the bean: little spot burning, short cycles, clean cup with well-defined acidity. Heat recovery relies on a small electric model whose power is limited.
What you lose
Body, which owes much to conduction, is harder to build. The profile becomes very sensitive to airflow, which calls for an operator who knows what they are doing. Reinjecting the exhaust requires treating the smoke properly, failing which pyrolysis compounds are recycled into the drum.
