Coffed
Production drums, Piła, Poland.
History
The only Polish manufacturer identified with certainty: of the roughly ninety brands recognized by the Artisan software, a single Polish name, this one. The business started in 2008 as an intermediary in the purchase and sale of industrial machinery; a first major job for Mokate in 2009; in 2013, a 799 m² production hall, and the shift to its own manufacturing. The current company was entered in the court register on May 4, 2017, KRS 0000676194. Twenty-two employees, more than 250 machines sold or refurbished, a lead time of ten to twelve weeks.
What it makes
Double-wall drums, hence indirect heating, with a burner modulating from 20 to 100% on natural gas, LPG or biogas, recirculation, water injection on the large models, touchscreen controller, and control open to Artisan and Cropster.
The models
SR series: SR1 (0.3 to 1 kg), SR3 (1 to 3 kg), SR5, SR15, SR25 (10 to 25 kg, 88 kg/h), SR30, SR60 (30 to 60 kg, 240 kg/h), SR90, SR120 (60 to 120 kg, 480 kg/h), SR240 under development. An afterburner matched to each model, sold separately.
What you gain
The double wall and the modulating burner place the firm on the principle of the European references of the craft, at a Polish price: the 3 kg model is quoted at around 50,000 zlotys excluding tax. The modulation from 20 to 100% gives a wide range, useful for slow profiles at low charge. And open control is a real argument: the roaster is not locked into in-house software.
What you lose
The whole range is gas-fired: no electric or hot-air option, which closes the door to urban shops without a connection. Twenty-two employees and a ten-week lead time mean an after-sales service that is necessarily thin outside Poland, offset by remote access. And since the afterburner is separate, the cost of a compliant installation exceeds the displayed price.
